Google toolbar for Firefox

Just call me the Googleblogger! It seems like a good percentage of my posts mention Google. I just think they are such a cool company though. Up until now I've been content with the built-in search bar for Firefox. Hit CTRL+K and you get popped up there, CTRL+UP/DOWN cycles between search engines (which you can add to!). It works pretty well, but there were a few things from the Google IE Toolbar that I missed.

  • Spell check
  • Up (go up one portion of the URL -- more useful than you'd think)
  • Form Autofill

Each of these options are pretty handy, and the newest version even has the auto-translate feature built-in. Learning Spanish it is helpful to be able to mouse-over a word to see the translation. Unfortunately it only goes English -> Spanish. Even better would be S -> E. Maybe in a future version.

If this sounds good, go here to download it. You lose a little screen real estate for it, but with the resolution I typically run at it isn't that big of a deal. It looks just like the IE version and is definitely worth the download.
