I've been a user of Google's Gmail email service (http://gmail.google.com) for eight or nine months now and I've really been enjoying it. They still have a ways to go as far as I'm concerned compared to "complete portfolio" services through companies like Yahoo. I like Yahoo's briefcase and photo features, along with scheduling and notepad. Google has their excellent Picasa product but no online counterpart. They need some way of at least organizing pictures that arrive as attachments even if they don't turn it into a full-fledged gallery product. I tried to search messages the other day based on attachment and was surprised that there doesn't seem to be any direct way to do so. Yahoo doesn't have that either, but I think that attachments should be indexed in a pseudo-filesystem approach. It would be a nice add-on and round out the overall package nicely.

Signing up for Gmail is based on invitations at this point while it's in beta. About a month after I got an invitation from somone, I noticed I had six invitations to give out. Since then I've given one or two away here or there, and it dips down as low as four, then back up towards six again. No idea how they figure that. Well, today when I was checking messages I noticed that they had moved the number-of-invitations section and included an email address inline (as opposed to the popup form it used to be). That little surprise, however, was nothing compared to noticing that I now have 50 invitations to give out! I have no idea how I would give away so many. If anyone is interested, just let me know. I've got plenty to spare now!
